report, fca, update

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published an update on the response to its Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) campaign.

In August 2017, the FCA imposed a deadline of 29 August 2019 for PPI complaints. Since then, more than 43,000 people have contacted the regulator by phone, email and web chat regarding PPI. Alongside this, over 3 million people have accessed the PPI pages of its website.

Social media has played a large part in the campaign with almost 11,000 comments across the FCA’s social channels.

A more efficient service

Earlier in the year, the FCA released an update on their PPI communications campaign showing that more people than ever were checking for PPI before submitting a complaint, leading to a more efficient service and fewer rejections.

The deadline is approaching fast

The deadline to make a complaint about PPI has been set. The last day to submit a claim is 29 August 2019. The FCA will publish a final report after the deadline to bring the PPI issue to a close.
